Loving Kindness & Integral Assessment

Loving Kindness: This experience provided some interesting insight, although I am not sure how it realates to the loving kindness exercise itself. I felt the message to be personal, whereas my last experience with this exercise felt universal. I saw an eyeball (which I have seen before in past meditations), I interpret it to mean "intuition" and I heard/saw/felt (?) "find happiness". I also saw violet colored clouds.

Integral Assessment: During this process I discovered that I am out of balance in two of the four lines of development right now, Psychospiritual and Interpersonal. What I heard/saw/felt was that I need to focus first on Psychospiritual development and it will influence the Interpersonal development.

I found the chapters for Unit 6 in the Integral Health text to be exactly what I needed to read. The information will be very helpful to me. I am ususally aware that I am "out of sync" but not always aware of why. The assessment provides a way for me to check in with myself and
not rationalize (which is what I normally do) why I am feeling off. I also understand why I need to focus on the psychospiritual first, as I have been reactive (note to self: respond rather than react) and fearful lately which I know directly affects my relationships with others.

  1. It sounds like you have a pretty good understanding of yourself. Are you normally an intuitive person? That is interesting that the eyeball comes up. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

  2. I agree with you Susan. This week has been a real eye opener. (no pun intended). It really made me stop and think that I'm not as "in sync" as I thought I was, and I do have a bit to work on. This week was very powerful for me because I did find a "problem" that I have supressed and acted like it wasn't for so long. It kind of hurt at first, but a least I have tools now to deal with it effectively now. I'm glad your becoming more intuned with yourself, and I hope it keeps getting better from here. Hopefully we can both find the "whys" and end up with total flourishing in the end. Nice job!
